Patient Stories

Endometriosis is isolating. Patient stories can reduce that isolation and help others recognize their own experience. We publish stories only with explicit written consent. Individual results vary — a story describes one patient's journey and is not a predictor of outcome for anyone else.

How stories are collected

  • Patients contact the editorial team and indicate willingness to share their experience.
  • An editor and the patient shape the story together in plain language.
  • The patient reviews and approves the final wording, images, and any identifying details.
  • Explicit written consent is required before publication.
  • Patients may edit or withdraw their story at any time.

What we do not do

  • We do not pay for stories.
  • We do not publish stories that make treatment guarantees.
  • We do not modify medical outcomes for marketing purposes.
  • We do not publish identifiable details without consent — see our Privacy Notice.

How to read patient stories responsibly

Each patient's disease location, prior treatment, anatomy, and goals are different. Two patients with the same MRI findings may have different symptoms, respond differently to surgery, or have very different fertility outcomes. Stories are shared to illustrate care pathways and reduce isolation — not to predict what will happen for you. See our Treatment Results Disclaimer.

Story categories

Stories will be organized under the following categories once patients have consented to publication.

  • Diagnosis after years of symptoms

    Coming soon

Patients who spent years being told their pain was normal, or who received unrelated diagnoses, before endometriosis was confirmed.

  • Failed prior treatment

    Coming soon

Patients whose first surgery relied on ablation, missed deep disease, or was performed without a multidisciplinary team.

  • Bowel endometriosis

    Coming soon

Patients who required colorectal collaboration for shaving, disc excision, or segmental resection.

  • Bladder or ureter endometriosis

    Coming soon

Patients with silent ureteral disease, hydronephrosis, or bladder involvement requiring urology.

  • Fertility journey

    Coming soon

Patients navigating the sequence of surgery, ovarian reserve testing, IVF, or fertility preservation.

  • Robotic excision

    Coming soon

Patients whose surgical plan used robotic assistance for complex deep disease.

  • Travel to Tijuana experience

    Coming soon

Patients who traveled for coordinated cross-border care and want to share what the pathway was like.
